Delete Your Viewdora Account
Request deletion of your Viewdora account and everything stored in it.
Applies to Viewdora Studio, viewdora.com, and the Viewdora iOS and Android apps (com.viewdora.app).
How to request deletion
Send us a deletion request from the email address on the account. That is how we verify the request is really yours.
Email hello@viewdora.com with the subject “Delete My Account”, and include:
- the email address on the account;
- whether you are a photographer, a team member, or a client; and
- your organization name, if your account belongs to one.
Open a pre-filled deletion request
You can also raise it through our help desk. Either route reaches the same team.
We will confirm receipt, verify that the request comes from the account owner, and email you when the deletion is complete. If we cannot verify the request, we will tell you what else we need rather than act on it — deleting the wrong account is not recoverable.
Before you send it: cancel your subscription
Deleting your account and cancelling your subscription are two different things. If you have a paid plan, cancel it in Viewdora Studio through the billing portal first, and check that it shows as cancelled. Asking for deletion does not by itself stop a renewal charge before we have processed the request.
Download anything you want to keep before you send the request. Once deletion runs, we cannot get it back for you.
What gets deleted
- your account and profile, including your name, email address, and settings;
- your organization and team records, if you are the owner;
- your galleries and all photographs in them, together with the thumbnails, web previews, and watermarked copies we generated;
- your client contact records, invitations, and the gallery activity attached to them; and
- your watermark artwork, logos, and other uploaded assets.
How long it takes
- Within 30 days of a verified request, your account and content are removed from our active systems.
- Within a further 90 days, the remaining copies age out of our encrypted backups and are overwritten. Backups are restore-only; we do not use them to serve or analyse deleted data.
What we have to keep, and why
We keep the minimum required, described in Section 6 of the Privacy Policy:
- billing, invoice, and tax records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires;
- a record that you asked us to delete the account, and that we did;
- an entry on our email suppression list, so we do not email you again; and
- anything subject to a legal hold, or to an open fraud or security investigation, for as long as that lasts.
If you are a client rather than a photographer
You can ask us to delete your Viewdora access and the account you use to view galleries. That does not delete your photographer’s copies of your photographs, or their own business records about your session — those belong to the photographer, who decides what happens to them. For those, contact your photographer directly. Section 2 of the Privacy Policy explains how the roles divide, and we will help your photographer act on your request.
Other privacy requests
If you want a copy of your data, a correction, or to exercise another privacy right without deleting your account, email hello@viewdora.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy covers response times, identity verification, authorised agents, and how to appeal if we decline.
